AUG 11 – JOY BECAUSE OF MIRACLES!

“For unclean spirits, crying with a loud voice, came out of many who were possessed; and many who were paralyzed and lame were healed. And there was great joy in that city” (Acts 8:7, 8).

What is the reason behind “Great joy” happening in that city? The sick being healed, unclean spirits running out and the crippled being able to walk are the reasons for that great joy. You must not stop with receiving happiness through the Holy Spirit but also continue to receive the gifts of the Spirit through the Holy Spirit. These gifts of the Spirit bring the divine power within you. You receive the authority and reign through it.

What is the reason behind many people lacking happiness? Sickness and weakness prevent them from fulfilling their responsibilities towards their families and God. Most of the time, these people lie down in their beds. Their lives are devoid of happiness.

When Jesus Christ came to the world, the miracles He performed were countless. The Scripture says, “…how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him” (Acts 10:38).

Dear children of God, if Jesus Christ comes into your life, the sickness and weaknesses in you will surely get away from you. The struggles of the enemy will disappear. Satan does not come except to steal, kill and destroy. But God helps you to have life and for you to have it abundantly. For the sake of your sickness, He accepted stripes in His body. What a great joy this is!

Once, a sister severely suffering from Asthma came to attend a Gospel meeting. On the last day of the meeting, she came to the dais for praying. When the pastor in the dais placed his hand on her head and prayed with compassion, the sickness disappeared. The relief was permanent. Whatever healing God gives, it stays given forever.

As God performed this miracle, there was a joy for both the woman and the pastor. There was great joy in the whole family of that sister. That is why the Scripture says that there was great joy in the whole city. Dear children of God, God wants to bring great joy to your city through you.

To meditate: “He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you” (Romans 8:11).
