AUG 05 – HOLINESS OF THE SON!

“And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God” (I Corinthians 6:11).

Jesus Christ is one to accomplish everything for holiness. His love compels you to walk in the path of holiness. Having seen the man unclean, Jesus Christ descended with love to wash and cleanse him.

So, Jesus Christ poured His blood for you to get the remission of sins. His blood washes and cleanses all the sins. It turns you holy. One who tastes the love of Christ will abide by His commands. He will never resort to enjoy the sinful pleasures. He will never ignore God and move towards worldly pleasures.

Once, a brother belonging to the cine field said, “The field in which I am involved is a field which ruins the life of a man in every way. It is my wife’s love that helps me in living holy. She loves me immeasurably. When I am sick, she takes care of me day and night, even sacrificing her sleep. She values me as her own life and so, my heart never allows me to commit anything disloyal to her”.

Look at Jesus Christ. His love is a divine one through which He dedicated Himself to us. The Scripture says, “that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish” (Ephesians 5:26, 27).

Jesus Christ had formulated all the ways and means to move forward in holiness. He lived a model life for others to follow. He has given a model for one to follow His holy footsteps. The Scripture says, “….as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct” (I Peter 1:15).

Many religions insist on holiness, but the ways and means for the purpose are available in Christianity alone. Further, the blood of Calvary which cleanses one is available here alone. The divine love of Jesus Christ that could guide one in the path of holiness is also available in Christianity alone.

To meditate: “Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ” (I Thess. 5.23).
