“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” (Genesis 1:1).
Our God remains as God of creation and we remain as part of His creations. Even today, His power of creation has not diminished. He is powerful to create everything perfect for you.
When God created the sun, moon and other things, He sent His Word for the purpose. God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light (Genesis 1:3). Then God said, “Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters” and there was a firmament. “Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth” and it was so” (Genesis 1:11).
But God handled a new way of creating man. The Scripture says, “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living being” (Genesis 2:7). The Mighty God who created everything else through His Word gave His image and form and became our loving Father.
God of creation is more concerned over you as He has created you in His image and form. One should not think that His power of creation ended with the creation of the world in the beginning.
God sent manna to the children of Israel when they were in the wilderness. It is food for the angels in heaven. He created it for the man and sent it to the children of Israel. When the children of Israel wanted to have meat, God created the quail and sent it to them in plenty. How was He able to feed five thousand people with two fish and five loaves of bread? How was it possible to fill twelve baskets with fragments at the end? That was the power of creation of God!
God was compassionate to Jonah who was broken-hearted. “And the Lord God prepared a plant and made it come up over Jonah, that it might be shade for his head to deliver him from his misery” (Jonah 4:6). How was a seed of the plant available there? How was it possible for it to grow so much overnight? How did a variety of plant which can grow only into a small plant grow to that height to provide shade? Yes. That is the power of God’s creation.
To meditate: “For your Maker is your husband, The Lord of hosts is His name; and your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel; He is called the God of the whole earth” (Isaiah 54:5).
