“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,…” (Galatians 5:22).
When peace, the fruit of the Spirit, is received one becomes happy and when one gives it to others too one becomes jubilant. Peace, which is the fruit of the Spirit will act alone and it can also act along with the other qualities. Love, happiness and peace are closely related to one another.
Look up to Jesus Christ. All the fruits of the Spirit were seen perfect in Him. When you accept Jesus Christ, His characteristics will reveal in you. That is the only way to make your life filled with peace.
When you receive the anointment of the Holy Spirit, the Heavenly God brings the gifts and fruits of the Spirit into you. But, do you give that fruit of the Spirit happily to God? The Scripture says, “The mandrakes give off a fragrance, and at our gates are pleasant fruits, all manner, new and old, which I have laid up for you, my beloved” (Song of Solomon 7:13).
You have to abide in God always for receiving this fruit which is peace. Jesus said, “Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me” (John 15:4).
An atheist spoke about the creations of man and said, “There is no God. Even if there is a God, he is not required for us.” A Christian brother told the atheist, “Sir, look at the tiny ant. How peacefully it runs about! Is it possible for you to create a small ant? Can you receive the peace that it has?”
Though that atheist had been talking ill of God, he had been struggling without peace in his personal life. Open-heartedly he accepted the Christian brother saying, “Yes. Indeed, peace cannot be attained through human knowledge.” Yes. Divine peace is a gift graciously given by God. The peace will remain firm even amidst changing atmospheres. The peace from God alone is one to remain firm. Its future is also sweet.
The Scripture says, “Mark the blameless man, and observe the upright; for the future of that man is peace” (Psalms 37:37). Dear children of God, receive peace that is strong and permanent with the help of the Holy Spirit. This is a blessing given exclusively to the believers. The great fruit which the Holy Spirit gives free of cost.
To meditate: “For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit” (Romans 14:17).
