Nov 24 – ONE WHO CHANGES !

“The Lord turned the rock into a pool of water, the flint into a fountain of waters” (Psalm 114:8).

David, who had a close walk with God; looks at the transformative power of the Lord and says: “He turned the rock into a pool of water, the flint into a fountain of waters”. No technological advancement or education can change the heart of a man and renew his mind. But when the Lord changed, ordinary water was turned into wine; and all the sweet characteristics of wine, were infused into the water. It acquired the colour, smell and taste of wine. And above all, it acquired the power of God.

That is why it became a sweet wine; much superior compared to the wine served earlier. Lord Jesus came in the midst of disciples – who were just ordinary and unlettered men. But when they had fellowship with the Lord, everything was changed. They were filled with wisdom, with spiritual gifts and power, with glorious ministries.

The Lord changes the nature of every person. He can change and set right even the hard-core criminals; who cannot be changed by law and society at large. We may even think that some persons will never get out of their drinking habits or could never be saved. But in an instant, the Lord can change them into a holy person and establish them in a life of testimony.

The Lord restored Job’s losses (Job 42:10)., and changed the barrenness of Hannah (1 Samuel 2:5). Even in your life, the adversary could have brought in poverty, various problems, illness, disappointment and failure. He may have suppressed you and blocked you from rising and shining for the Lord. But the Lord, extends His hand toward you; the hand that changes everything. And he will change your sorrow into joy.

King David says; “You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; you have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness” (Psalm 30:11). Just imagine the agony that he should have gone through. In those days, those who mourn will wear sackcloth, sit in the dust and heap ash upon themselves and keep on wailing. But even in the midst of such mourning, the Lord extended His loving hand, and changed that mourning into joy.

Children of God, the Lord can make waters to burst forth in the wilderness and streams in the desert. He can turn darkness into light. He has created everything out of nothing. And He is the One who walks with you in your life. Today, will you surrender yourselves to the Lord who can completely transform you and make everything new?

Verse for further meditation: “Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful” (Revelation 21:5)
