JUNE 22 – THE BEST IN BEAUTY!

“My beloved is white and ruddy, chief among ten thousand” (Song of Solomon 5:10).

Many people get nearer to Jesus Christ with the wish to meet Him. On meeting Him, they render witness about Him. They describe how His appearance is. They praise Him saying, “My beloved is white and ruddy, chief among ten thousand.”

Since He is white, the Scripture compares Him to the white lily flower. The white lily flower blossoms in the valleys and spreads the fragrance there and in the same way, Jesus Christ remains as one to take a humble birth and spread His holiness all around.

He is also red. The red colour remains as a sign of the sacrifice of God and the blood of Calvary. He who is altogether lovely, turned into red by shedding blood on the Cross of Calvary, for our sake. He had no beauty and was marred that way. Whenever we look up to that red colour, the sufferings Christ underwent and the sacrifices He made for us, fill our hearts with Ecstasy.

We saw the Scripture comparing God’s white colour to the lily flower and His Red colour to the blood of Calvary. It also compares His red colour to the rose of Sharon. Whenever we see the rose of Sharon, the bloody red colour of the big drops of blood of Calvary, keeps shaking our hearts. He is the Son of God. He is the Son of man. He is the one to advocate for us, sitting at the right of the Lord.

Look at that wonderful Saviour. He is white and ruddy, chief among ten thousand. Further, He is yours. Right from the time in which you submitted yourself into His hands, He has become yours too. What a great blessing it is for such a great God who said, “Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool” (Isaiah 66:1) to become yours and guide you!

Dear children of God, if you accept this wonderful Saviour as your lover of soul, He will fill your entire heart. He will bring the heavenly glory into you. He will establish the Heavenly holiness and divine love within you. He who is chief among ten thousand will make you also very special.

To meditate: “God was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the Spirit, seen by angels,
preached among the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up in glory” (I Timothy 3:16).
