“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you,
Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand” (Isaiah 41:10).
God not only stays with us but He also dwells in us. He walks with us and He never leaves us. His name is Immanuel which gives the meaning “God is with us.”
As many people do not believe that God is with us, they think that God is somewhere far away. They keep thinking that ‘He will not be with us. He will only be with the holy angels. He will only be with cherubim and seraphim. He will only be with the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders of heaven.’ That is why they are unable to feel the sweet presence of God.
God indeed dwells in heaven. But He comes close to you as a loving father when you accept Him and place your faith in Him. When you sing and praise Him, one who dwells among praises descends to dwell amidst you.
The prime promise among all the promises of God found in the Scripture is “I am with you”. We can see God giving this promise to every saint in the Scripture. That is why they were able to move ahead without hesitation or fear and were able to do great and wonderful things for God.
How was Joshua able to move boldly and inherit Canaan? It is only because of the following promise of God. “…as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you” (Joshua 1:5).
What was the reason behind the disciples who at one time denied Jesus, cursed Him and promised against Him to change later and do great things in Jerusalem powerfully? How was it possible for them to harvest the souls in thousands? The promise of God alone is the reason. Since God said, “…lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age” (Mathew 28:20) they got strengthened and did God’s work powerfully.
Dear children of God, today God promises saying, “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God”. When the Almighty God is with you, why should you fear or cast down?
To meditate: “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me” (Psalm 23:4).
