Dec 1 – A SPRING OF WATER, WHOSE WATERS DO NOT FAIL!
“…you shall be like a watered garden and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail” (Isaiah 58:11).
All the blessings given by God are for you alone. When you inherit them, the promises of God in Him are yes and in Him Amen. Today, God looks at you and says, “You shall be like a watered garden and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.” Yes. You are a spring whose water does not fail.
We can see several lakes and tanks with water in them. But during summer, they will become dry. But you will never become dried up or get broken-hearted under any circumstances. God compares you to the spring. Sweet water will continuously keep secreting from the spring all through the year. The blessings of God will never get dried up. The good things, grace and blessings which God gives you will never come to an end.
This spring is one which turns the shortfalls into plenty. Once a prophet’s wife faced a financial crisis;she was unable to meet the needs for want of money. But God made the spring to secrete from her cooking vessel. Oil was overflowing from her utensil in a non-stop manner. The secretion went on until all the pots got filled up. The anointment of the Holy Spirit is there in you, similar to how that vessel remained full always. Is not that anointment also a spring? Jesus said, “…but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life” (John 4:14).
This spring is the one which quenches the thirst. The people of the world are suffering from thirst and have run dry in search of the spring of life to quench their thirst. God says, “The poor and needy seek water, but there is none, their tongues fail for thirst. I, the Lord, will hear them; I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them. I will open rivers in desolate heights and fountains in the midst of the valleys; I will make the wilderness a pool of water and the dry land springs of water” (Isaiah 41:17, 18).
Jesus Christ alone is the one who could quench the thirst of your soul. The people of the world run thirstily in search of lusts, sins and money. They remain as deer which are deceived by the mirage. They never get satisfied. But God not only quenches your thirst but also makes you blessed to others by making a spring overflow from within you. Dear children of God, will you praise God for making you a spring?
To meditate: “Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life” (Proverbs 4:23).
