“For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer” (I Timothy 4:5).
Since the Bible in your hands guides you in the path of holiness, it is called the “Holy Bible.” You are being made holy through the verses in the Scripture. The Word of God turns a sinner into a saint. The Bible has another name “Bible of Truth.” The Scripture says, “Sanctify them by your truth. Your word is truth” (John 17:17).
The verses in the Scripture contain the secret of holiness. The verses are filled with the spirit and life. The holiness of heaven, the life and the spirit, which are not known to you, are found in them together. It is because of this, the Word of God washes you. It stirs you up; guides you in the path of holiness. These Bible verses are the rules and regulations which our Holy God has graciously given as a gift for the people to live holy.
In the Old Testament, when God gave Moses the Ten Commandments, there were thunders and lightning, and the whole mountain moved. The children of Israel shivered on seeing this. Yes. When the children of Israel were given with the book of the law, it helped them to walk in the path of righteousness.
One who gave the book of law has stipulated the law of discipline for His children. He makes people walk in the path of righteousness by prescribing some regulations. These regulations are the book of law to judge you.
If this Scripture finds a place in your heart, and if you set your life based on these verses, your life will never deviate from its path. You will remain as blessed. Are not those supreme breeds who abide by the Scripture blessed? Are not those who meditate His law day and night blessed? It is that blessing which establishes you as holy ones.
How greatly the study of the Scripture differs from worldly education! The education of the world may provide a man exaltation and knowledge of the world. But, it cannot (never) give holiness to the soul. The study of the Scripture will make the soul holy and keep on transfiguring it. Dear children of God, read the Scripture, love it and meditate it.
To meditate: “You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you” (John 15:3).
