Oct 7 – TRIBE OF JUDAH!

“…and set himself to seek the Lord and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah” (II Chronicles 20:3).

The fasting and praise brought a great revival and redemption all over Judah. The tribe of Judah is a special one. All the great kings who ruled over Israel had emerged from this tribe. Our loving Lord Jesus Christ also belongs to it. He is called “The King lion of Judah.”

The meaning for the word ‘Judah’ is “I will praise God.” Leah, the elder wife of Jacob knew the secret that the praise made to God will bring Him to the earth. The Scripture says, “And she conceived again and bore a son and said, ‘Now I will praise the Lord.’ Therefore, she called his name Judah” (Genesis 29:35).

Levi was elder to his brother Judah. “Joined in Harmony” is the meaning of the name Levi. Judah was the one to take birth after Levi. If Judah comes after Levi, what does it mean? When we unite our spirit, soul and body with God, in continuation Judah which is the praise will come into presence. Think a bit deeper. When your spirit, soul and body get united and praise God with full power it will pave the way for the King lion of Judah to arrive. Unless Levi takes birth, Judah cannot come into being.

Many people are deprived of successes as they do not have the praise in their mouths. Levi is not born there and the spirit, soul and body have not united with God. Of all the tribes, the tribe of Judah has taken away the huge blessing. What is that blessing? Yes. Jesus Christ took birth in the tribe of Judah. He is our Saviour. The Saviour for the entire world.

The meaning for the word ‘Saviour’ is ‘one who delivers’. One who delivers from the sins and curses; from the struggles of the enemy. It is from Judah who is the praise you make to God, you receive the deliverance. It comes from your praises to God. Do you want the future of your children to be prosperous? Make them Judah so that they praise God. Do you want your husband to get exalted by being saved? Dedicate him as a praising Judah.

Jacob blessed his son by saying, “Judah, you are he whom your brothers shall praise; your hand shall be on the neck of your enemies; your father’s children shall bow down before you. Judah is a lion’s whelp; from the prey, my son, you have gone up” (Genesis 49:8, 9). If the whole family becomes Judah, Jesus Christ belonging to the tribe of Judah will descend with power. Dear children of God, increase praise in your life.

To meditate: “But chose the tribe of Judah, Mount Zion which He loved” (Psalm 78:68).
