“Ask me of things to come concerning my sons; and concerning the work of my hands, you command me” (Isaiah 45:11).
How greatly these words “Ask me, command me” make us happy! So, you need not worry about how the future would be, how the family will progress and what the future of your children would be. The future is in the hands of God. The Scripture says, “He reveals deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness and light dwells with Him” (Daniel 2:22). You seek from God rightfully as He is your Father. It is a blatant lie to say that things happen according to the fingerprints, or based on the position of the planets or based on one’s fate. Daniel told the king of Babylon, “And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises kings; He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding” (Daniel 2:21). It is that God who asks you ‘to command Him.’ Think a little over this. How can you command God who created the universe, all the creatures and activated the sun, the moon and the stars? Your right as His children is the reason for this; the affection in Him as your Father. Is it not that fellowship which prevails between you and God which creates this opportunity? Look up to Christ. When you accept Him, when you come and join in His family, He remains as one to do all things for you. He is your own Father! You seek and receive from Him similar to how a child seeks and receives from its father. Look up to Joshua. He looked at the creations of God and commanded them, “Sun, stand still over Gibeon and you, moon, over the Valley of Aijalon” and they obeyed. God has provided you with the authority, governance and power to command in this way. When you command, the sickness gets cured. When you command the evil spirits, they run away and disappear. Dear children of God, think of all the gracious things which God has provided you with. Will you stand steadfast in His family? How blessed it is for you to seek things in prayer and God answering them and fulfilling all the desires of your heart!
To meditate: “Only fear the Lord and serve Him in truth with all your heart; for consider what great things He has done for you” (I Samuel 12:24).
